Exploring the intersection of software engineering and philosophical inquiry
I am a software engineer with what anyone would consider a prolific career: I've worked for years in mobile development, frontend, backend, and even AI. I've dedicated considerable effort to programming, making it a part of who I am, and I deeply admire those who excel at it. I've devoted so much time to software engineering that I honestly find it difficult to imagine my life without a computer and without programming.
Even so, I always felt something remained to be discovered, something underlying to programming itself. It wasn't enough to merely use software concepts (abstraction, identity, change, reality, knowledge, reason, ...) - I wanted to truly understand them. I didn't know that at the end of this path, a new one would open up, what we call philosophy.
I would love to say I'm a philosopher, but I leave that title to those who truly deserve it. I see it impossible to attain the excellence of Aristotle, Kant, Descartes, Berkeley, or Schopenhauer (to name a few). My investigations will never reach their heights, nor will what I say affect so many people. This doesn't bother me: I don't feel pressure knowing geniuses of such caliber exist. However, as Schopenhauer would say, I'm not writing only for myself or my contemporaries: someday my writings may become valuable to future generations of programmers and maybe philosophers. I stand on the shoulders of these giants of thought.
I understand that my writings will always be placed at the intersection of programming and philosophy: they won't excel at the first, because they'll always lack the deep knowledge that philosophy offers; but neither will they excel at the second, as I'm not smart enough to think about philosophy without the computer as a medium.
Having said this, I invite you to read my writings. I imagine we both share a technical background. I can't promise that my writing will be of great quality, but I'm confident it can lead both of us to question our ways of thinking.
Welcome!
